Polly Ard has been employed with the Sheriff's Office since 1996. She was hired as a dispatcher and assigned to Communications where she server for 9 years. In 2006, she was re-assigned as the Communications Training Officer. She served as the Training Officer until March of 2008 when she was promoted to Communications Supervisor.

Her training includes completion of Nine One One, Inc., Basic Dispatch, Freeze +P Chemical Weapon Certification, Advanced Taser M26 Certification, APCO International, Inc., Communications Center Supervisor Program, Professional Dispatch Management Responding to School Shootings, Emergency Management Institute IS-100,200,700, and 800.

She has been a resident of Livingston Parish since 1978. Polly and her husband Mike live in Walker with their four daughters.
