On September 4, 2016 just after 9:00p.m., members of the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office Uniform Patrol Divisionmade contact with a suspicious person parked in a vehicle in the parking lot of a Watson retailer located at 34025 LA. Hwy. 16.
Sheriff Jason Ard says, ‘The subject - later identified as 47-year old Jerry Brown of 96 Swayback Ln. in Greensburg, LA - was parked in a dark part of the parking lot away from other vehicles. As deputies approached Brown, he made eye contact with them and was observed attempting to conceal something on the vehicle’s floorboard. Upon making contact with Brown, he was questioned as to why he was parked in such a dark remote area of the parking lot and why he was attempting to hide something from deputies as they approached him. Brown admitted he is currently on Federal Probation for Child Pornography and that he had a computer in his vehicle that could cause him problems.’
An onsite investigation began and a search of Brown’s vehicle was conducted. A lap top computer was recovered that held numerous photographs of underage persons engaged in sexual acts.
Sheriff says, ‘A computer flash drive was found on Brown that contained over 1000 photographs and videos of child pornography.’
The search of the vehicle also revealed 2 small pill / tablet containers which held an Amphetamine Salt capsule and multiple dosages of suspected Buproprion Hydrochloride and suspected Gabapentin.
Brown was arrested at the scene without incident on the following charges:
>Pornography Involving Juveniles (100 counts)
>Possession of SCH 2 CDS
